My adventure with traditional decorative eggs began in early childhood amidst the magic of Easter preparations. It was then, just before the blessing of Easter eggs. When a most skilful neighbor of mine, Mr. Joseph, would with the aid of a simple sharpened piece of wood, some bees wax and a tailor’s needle, conjure the most beautiful of decorative eggs. Today I know that he a was a Highlander of Eastern Slovian origins and the intricate designs he had shown me that day, have their roots in that ethnic culture. At that time it has been a truly amazing experience, and one that has carved itself in my memory with stunning clarity, ever since I have been putting my own skills to the test at the noble art of their creation.
Long time has passed since then and the art I found so intricate and attractive as a hobby in the past, became a true and undisputed passion of mine. I have added many new designs to the patterns and markings that have been passed onto me by Mister Joseph as well as enhanced and broadened the color palette which made my works quite unique. Nowadays I take active participation in many gallery displays, workshops and competitions, which have gained me many new friends and recognition for my work in the form of numerous awards.
In the recent works section the lattes of my creations can be found, whereas the gallery part of the website contains a sample of all my works classified by the various artistic techniques used to in their for their creation. The decorative eggs which you are about to view have gained the interest of many ethnographic galleries as well a constant notice and appreciation from a wide audience of independent spectators and I hope you will also find something to your liking in the presented works.
Kindest Regards
